Holywell Tours

Guided Bird Tour (1-6 ) persons          100 USD each 
- Visitors will be met at Holywell  at 6:00am by the Park Ranger/Tour Guide
- The Tour will be conducted at Holywell and its environs.
- Visitors are welcome to relax and enjoy Holywell after their Bird Tour.

Holywell Nature Trail Tour                        20 USD each
This tour is a half day visit and includes:      
- Presentation on the Blue & John Crow Mountains National Park - its programs and activities
- Tour of Holywell - see examples of the work of the National Park
- Trail Tour (select from the list)- see mist-forest flora and fauna
- Relax and have your picnic lunch

Holywell Nature and Community Tour   55 USD each
This tour is a full day and includes:        
- Presentation on the Blue & John Crow Mountains National Park
- Tour of Holywell
- Trail Tour (select from the list)
- Relax and have your picnic lunch
- Take a trek through a nearby community with a friendly, local guide

Holywell Trails

Oatley Mountain Trail
- 1.2 km long, steep elevation gain - moderately difficult
This gravel-paved, loop trail ascends through modified forest to arrive at the Oatley Mountain Peak -1,400 metres above sea-level. On the way up, there are panoramic views of St. Andrew and Portland from three Look-Out Points. The Trail descends through primary forest, rich in ferns and mosses, with over 50 species of trees and shrubs.

Waterfall Trail
- 1.3 km long, steep elevation gain - moderately difficult
This rugged trail takes you on an adventure along the side of a mountain and down through a lush valley of ferns. Weary feet can be soothed in a cool mountain stream along the way and you will be rewarded at the end of the trail, when you see this stream plunge over 15 feet on its way down the valley.

Shelter Trail
- 600 metres long, little elevation gain - easy
This trail is perfect for the visitor who wants a short, romantic stroll through the tropical mist-forest. Bromeliads and ferns trail from the large trees, and there is a beautiful view into Portland at the end. You may catch a glimpse of the colourful Jamaican Tody or Robin Red-breast along this trail.

Blue Mahoe Trail
- 350 metres long, little elevation gain - very easy
This trail is the main access trail from the Ranger Station/Administrative Area to the Cabins and Picnic Areas. It is an easy walk through secondary forest of Blue Mahoe (Jamaica?s National Tree) and Caribbean Pine, dotted with Tree Ferns and other plant species.

Wag Water/Dick's Pond Trail
- 630 metres long -moderate elevation gain - slightly difficult
This trail is for the adventurous hiker. A steep one-way path takes you through primary and secondary forest, past the beginning of the Wag Water Stream and into the Dick?s Pond area. Your efforts are sure to be rewarded with glimpses of birds such as the Jamaican Tody, Rufous-throated Solitaire and the Red-billed Streamertail Hummingbird - "Doctor-bird" (Jamaica's National Bird).
